I’m 55. I thought I'd have everything I wanted by now. Unfortunately I still don't know what that is. Warning: contains adult material, like pensions and the menopause.
Adele has written albums about being 19, 21 and 25 – but you don’t often hear the older woman’s point of view. That’s why I’ve written a show about being 55: old enough to move into my mother’s sheltered flats, young enough to still have dreams.
Now happily post-menopausal, I’ll share my top tips for dealing with the hot flushes, tears and life-changing mental turmoil that the menopause brings. And I’ll celebrate the amazing sense of freedom I’ve found on the other side – if only I could decide what to do with it (and whether my pension fund can afford it.)
My last Fringe show, Addicted to Fun, got a five-star review at the Edinburgh Fringe and played to full rooms. I’ve reached the finals of two national competitions: English Comedian of the Year (2009) and Old Comedian of the Year (2018).
'Comedy gold... she holds the room in the palm of her hand' ***** (One4Review).
'Charming, endearing, entertaining... undoubtedly made the world a little bit of a better place' (Notts Comedy Review.)
