Brand new stand up show from multi award winning Irish Iranian comedian Patrick Monahan.
Patrick was born in Iran, then moved to the outskirts of Middlesbrough where he grew up poor immigrant working class living in a caravan. Flash forward 2 decades & now lives with his upper middle class girlfriend in a house.
Patrick was born in Ahvaz in Iran, with Persian, Arab & Irish roots.
His family travelled from the Middle East to the North East of England in 1980.
Always an outsider in every country or town he has lived, never actually fitting in like a local.
His family were poor working class and lived in a caravan for most of his early teenage years on the outskirts of Middlesbrough.
Always living an immigrant working class life. Eating rice every day, no alcohol, traditionally raised Iranian and they couldn’t afford any family holidays. The only time Patrick & his family went abroad was the once which was to the UK from Iran in 1980 and his family never left since.
Flash forward 2 decades and Patrick now has an upper middle class Partner. Her family holiday regularly and work in the high end Art world.
Laugh & cry at Patrick’s crazy, confused, fast changing life as he compares living as a poor working class immigrant in a caravan for most of his upbringing to this last year of his life living with his upper middle class girlfriend and skiing for the first time in his life, with millionaires and billionaires on a ski slope where he feels even more out of place. Will Patrick ever fit in anywhere or is he destined to be an outsider for ever.
