Lauren Dunn is the newly appointed Scrapstore development worker at the Crow Recycling Scrapstore in Coventry.

The 29-year-old, who is studying art at Coventry University alongside working at the Scrapstore, is encouraging artists, parents, school staff and students to visit and be inspired by the massive range of resources.

The Scrapstore is at Crow Recycling's base in Sparkbrook Street, Hillfields, Coventry taking up two upstairs rooms and part of the main warehouse building. To shop at the Scrapstore people must pay a £10 membership fee.

Lauren said: “We have a gold mine of materials in our Scrapstore so come and visit, have a walk around and be inspired.”

Lauren is using her experience working for household name high street retailers to bring the wow factor to the Scrapstore.

“We have excellent resources for artists, for schools and nurseries, for university students and also for families who have six weeks of the summer holidays ahead of them.

“The Scrapstore is idea for people crafting with children at home but without the money to pay high street prices.

“We also have resources for adults crafting at home and for home educators.”

Scrapstore members can be individuals, families or organisations.

Once people have paid £10 to join they can take advantage of fantastic bargains such as sample sized paint pots for 50 pence, A4 paper for two pence per sheet, A4 card for 3 pence a sheet and fabric starting at £1.50 a metre.

Scrapstore opening times are Mondays to Thursdays 9.30am to 3pm and Fridays 9.30am to 12 noon.
