This summer we will be doing all things playful in our popular children’s craft activities. Each week we will have a different theme to explore, with activities changing throughout.
Week 1: All About Me
Trace around your body on giant paper and embellish it with your unique style using fabric, paper and pens.
Giant Cardboard Collage Faces

Create a large scale abstract face using cardboard collage techniques and chalks.
Wool Wrapped Letters

Draw and cut out a letter of your choice on strong cardboard, before wrapping and decorating with bright and bold wool.
Week 2: Plenty of Puppets
Paper Cup Puppets

Turn a paper cup into a colourful character, adding details using paper, googly eyes, and concertina legs.
Dancing Pasta Puppets

Add some movement to fun puppets using pasta tubes, pipe cleaners, string and other craft materials.
Paper Bag Puppets

These hand puppets made from paper bags can be cute and colourful or mean looking monsters. Let your imaginations take over as you dive into this activity.
Week 3: Fun with Fairytales
Enchanted Castle Silhouettes

Create castles using black card and set it against mesmerising watercolour backgrounds.
Hanging Hot Air Balloons

Craft a hanging hot air balloon using paper plates and cups to decorate in colourful designs. Once you have these charming creations home you could pop a favourite toy inside to go on their very own floating adventure.
Friday 9 | Saturday 10
Turn yourself into a woodland pixie and make wings that you can wear out of cardboard and all sorts of unique, decorative materials.
Week 4: Recycled and Reimagined Crafts

Make a beautiful dream catcher to hang above your bed. Using beads, feathers and wool you will be able to weave designs to capture any bad dreams.
Paper Rolled Bead Bracelets

Learn the fascinating and simple process of making costume beads out of recycled paper. Turn them into a bracelet to wear or to give as a gift.
Friday 16 | Saturday 17
Using recycled milk and juice cartons, craft a bird house to hang in your garden. We’ll even provide you with a small bag of bird seed to help you attract some tweeting feathered friends this summer.
Week 5: Playful Printmaking

Master the art of block printing as you use recycled materials to make a unique stamp and learn the technique of collagraph printing.
Wednesday 21 | Thursday 22
Test out the most versatile method of printing and allow your imaginations to run free as you make monoprints using acetate and paint.
Scratch Foam Printing

Using scratch foam and bright colours, design and create multiple works of art to print onto paper.
Week 6: Creative Construction
Bottle Top and Beads Windchimes
